Gymnopilus Luteofolius  is a species of mushroom in the Cortinariaceae family. Its common names include Gymnopilus, Golden Purplish cap, Golden Glowing Mushroom, and Luteofolius. Gymnopilus luteofolius grows on hardwood logs. Gymnopilus luteofolius is widely distributed in North America where it has been more commonly reported from the western half than the eastern half of the continent . The gills are white to pale yellow, sometimes with a faint brownish tint towards the edges.
